My Life Goal, ze Weight

So I’ve managed to lose some weight over the Christmas weekend!  Go figure!  I’m pleased to announce that I didn’t gorge myself too much with food over the past few days…Christmas Day roasts are just like every other Sunday roast but with gluten free pastry, right?!?  Okay gluten free peppermint slice for breakfast for the past few days probably wasn’t my best food choice but oh my goodness it’s so good…might as well start the morning off with a dose of sweetness.

Shake Your Booty

Exercise…hahaha what is that?!?!!  I’ve managed to paint my shoe room twice over the past 24 hours and have another two coats of paint to go so I am totally counting this as exercise.  We’ve also had the fire blazing as we’ve had G’s mum staying over Christmas…so I feel like I’ve lost a stone in weight due to the back lounge feeling like a sauna…okay a sauna where I scoff peppermint slice as quickly as possible before it melts in my hand!

What I’m Up Too…

A belated Merry Christmas to everyone…I had great intentions of posting on Christmas Eve and then I started baking…I have 16 kilos of gluten free flour to get through you see…I may have about 14 kilos left today…so it was a hard decision…peppermint slice vs a blog post…you know which one I decided to go with.

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas with their loved ones…I made Beef Wellington with the help of G’s mum…it was gluten free plus it’s not as difficult to make as everyone made out!

So I went shopping today as my mum wanted some robins for her christmas tree next year…I found them in Waitrose but waited to get them in the sales as you know, money doesn’t grow on trees.  I think mum said 10 would be sufficient so I got her 27…I may have rounded up…creative accounting at it’s best.

Mum does have a golden rule when it comes to christmas decorations…always buy odd numbers i.e. 3 or 5 etc…you should never buy just 1…so I thought I might as well buy mum 3 trays of robins as that’s an odd number…I suppose I could have stuck with just 1 tray but then I was breaking the christmas decoration rules.  Then told G that maybe we should have 2 christmas trees next year…I won’t repeat his response and then he asked when these little buggers would be flying to New Zealand…thought it would be a good time to tell him that my folks will be visiting most likely next year to collect them..imagine the fun my folks will have bringing these through New Zealand customs…anything to declare…yes 27 small birds.

My Christmas tree is starting to come down…I always take it down now so that you start the year afresh…albeit the year that I still had the tree up in March as I was busy with year end, auditors and then forecasting…best to do it now.

If you follow me on instagram you will probably see me posting a number of photos from 2016…if you want to join in the hashtag is #letstraveltheworldin12days – just share a photo from your trips from during this year.  I’m sharing my travels by month…my OCD tendencies are coming back tenfold.

Talking of instagram I read a very interesting article last week about “instagram influencers” and how they are not always what they seem…something that companies that are engaging with these influencers are finding out the hard way.

I have a to do list to work through this week including painting the shoe room, getting my eyes tested and just having one big life tidy up…it’s actually quite nice to get rid of a whole lot of clutter.

xx

It’s a calorie overload…chocolate shortbread, with peppermint filling and dark chocolate on top! If we meet, then we will have to have a picnic and I will make some, it’s delicious xx

The bit with the robins made me giggle. In for a penny! I think I might need the recipe for those peppermint slices…
