My Life Goal, ze Weight

So I went up this week by quite a lot…I’m not to bothered and putting it down to hormones and the stinking cold that I still have which I think I have now successfully passed onto G as he is complaining his eyes are hurting to open…G will of course have the man flu version of my cold.

Shake Your Booty

I’ve done quite a bit of yoga again this week…I’m hoping to add some walking on the treadmill once I am fully recovered from the sniffles.  My flexibility is improving from all this yoga…it’s amazing where I can lift my legs these days…apparently yoga can lift and firm up your boobies (let’s hope they resemble my 19 year old boobies please!), will let you know if this rubbish talk or not.

What I’ve Read

I moved away from the chick lit and read The Urban Farmer this week…something very different and quite interesting as it’s all about starting a business growing vegetables in a city using other peoples back gardens…Curtis Stone is a real entrepreneur.  Curtis goes into what crops worked well and what was the most profitable, how he kept his overheads down and how he sold all the produce…I love gardening and I’m an accounting nerd so this book rather tickled my tail feather.

Also I’m rather proud of James Wong for calling out an instagrammer for adding toxic flowers on their food…here is a list of some rather beautiful and eatable flowers if you do plan to add flowers to your food or drinks.  I did an eye roll when I saw this story earlier in the week…almost up there with that silly Dublin blogger story…where has all the common sense gone in this world.

What I’m Up Too…

G and I hired a van this weekend and collected a number of items that we had bought around the country…from a 1960s sideboard that I’m going to tidy up, to huge water tanks for our garden and another glass house which we picked up for free from a family friend.

It took us 3.5 hours to dismantle the glass house today in the freezing cold which including sunshine, hail, rain, sleet and snow…I was pretty sure my nose was going to snap off.

I’ve done more decluttering and I have to say it feels good to give items that you no longer use or want away….sooooo good.  It’s amazing how many shelves in the kitchen are now empty of items that I never used.  As I’ve mentioned decluttering in almost every diary post for the past 3 months so you would be forgiven for thinking that we only have ten items left in our home…we don’t…but we are slowly getting there.

I’ve challenged myself to use up as many ingredients in the kitchen before our next shop…I did this last year and cleared out a number of bags of food which were part used.  I made chicken soup in the slow cooker today and added a number of gluten free ingredients…unfortunately G’s tummy doesn’t agree with gluten free ingredients much…so he’s currently got a very sore tummy…oops!  Along with man flu, I’m pretty sure he thinks I’m trying to kill him today.

Just realised, I only have to get through one more week of work then the following week is a short one as we are off to Istanbul for our birthday.  February and March are rather big birthday months in our family…G, Me and G’s brother are all within a 5 day period…my poppas and his sister shared the same birthday which is today and then next month my little sister and daddy are celebrating.

Anyway enough of my babbling, Happy Weekend everyone!

I too am so into decluttering at the moment that I think one of these days I’m going to accidentally declutter myself.

I’m so excited you’re going to Istanbul! I loved it there SO much. Where are you staying? What are you going to do? I have so many questions. I hope you have the best time ever and remember, get the *rolled* turkish delight with the cream and chocolate and fresh fruit in it, not the gross squares. Rolled, I say!

Haha I know exactly what you mean Rachel!
We are staying at a Holiday Inn which is where we have stayed in the past as the location is spot on and can’t complain over the £35 a night cost either! Yes remembered your post on the rolled Turkish delight so am definitely going to be on the look out for it this week xx

Good for you sticking to yoga even though you’ve felt like crap! I only started getting into it last year, but have loved seeing the changes in my body that have come from it. (Although, if my boobs are perkier, I can’t tell. Maybe it only works for large-breasted women?!)

So what is this Dublin blogger story? I am out of the loop!

Like you, I started at the end of last year when I had the cancer scare and decided to do a bit of a overhaul on my lifestyle choices which is always fun. The changes are incredible aren’t they – if I didn’t eat cake I am pretty sure I would have a six pack from doing yoga, I have lines all over my tummy and I never get definition! Haha will let you know…I have rather big knockers! xx
