Jane Austen is one of my favourite authors and yes, I have a Jane Austen bucket list! Crazy really but that’s just me! So here are the items on my Jane Austen Bucket List and the ones with the √’s beside them are all completed….queue a happy dance.
√ Visited the resting place of Jane Austen at Winchester Cathedral
√ Visited Jane Austen’s House Museum in Chawton where she lived from 1809 – 1817 and you can see the little table where she penned her famous works
√ Had afternoon tea at Cassandra’s Tea Room in Chawton, right across from where Jane Austen used to live…I scoffed a scone or two!
√ Visited Lacock Village in Wiltshire aka Meryton from the BBC adaption of Pride and Prejudice
√ Visited Belton House in Lincolnshire aka Rosings Park from the BBC Adapation of Pride and Prejudice (nothing compares to a BBC adaptation in my world!)
√ Visited Bath with it’s strong Austen family history dotted around the town
Meet Colin Firth…I promise not to squeeze, pinch, eat, lick or try to kidnap Mr Firth aka Mr Darcy
Visit Lyme Park in Cheshire which is Pemberley from the BBC adaption of Pride and Prejudice
Climb a huge rock overlooking the Peak District just like Elizabeth did in Pride and Prejudice
Visit Longnor which featured in the BBC Adaption of Pride and Prejudice
Visit Chilham in Kent which was used in the BBC adaption of Emma
